All employees can login with mobile phone app instead of RUB card

Since Monday, 16th September, 2021, all employees can use the new "TOTP" method for authentication to FlexNow. However, two requirements must be met for this.

With this new method, employees use a mobile phone app to log into FlexNow. You do not need your RUBCard, a card reader, PIN or PUK to do this. All employees should be able to use the "Login with mo­bi­le phone App" link at the middle right of this page to log in. However, if the RUBCard is in the card reader when the link is clicked, you have to use the old method and the link at the top right "RUB­Card Login with card re­a­der" - as before. Thus, every emploee can choose between both procedures every time he or she logs in. The new procedure (TOTP) is nearly as secure as the old one (RUBCard). But the new procedure is easier to set up, plus it can be used to log in to any computer with any Internet browser.

The new procedure requires two things:

1. You have access to smartphone/tablet on which a certain app is installed. See the two instructions on the top right, under the link "Login with mobile app".
2. On the RUB page Identity Management, the so-called two-factor authentication is activated and, in addition, "Login with smartphone" is selected.
